Gardner Museum Library and Archives

The library and archives are open during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. by appointment. Please call (217)224-6873.

The public is invited to use the extensive collection of architectural books and books on Quincy History in our library during regular office hours. Along with our collection of history and architectural books we have also developed a file containing the histories of several Quincy houses - we would welcome any additions to this file. Also accessible are tax records from the mid to late 1800s. Our library is non-circulating, but interested patrons are welcome to use the resources on-site. Xerox services are available free of charge to Museum members, and for a nominal charge of $0.25 to non-members. Museum staff is available to assist patrons with research tasks. If you would like for us to do extensive research for you we will be able to do so for a nominal charge. Contact us for more information, (217) 224-6873.
